Joseph Malfitano

Senior Managing Director, Transaction Team

Joseph Malfitano is Senior Managing Director at Gordon Brothers on the transaction team supporting retail, commercial and industrial, and real estate for clients and partners in North America.

He has over 20 years of experience in structuring complex asset acquisition and disposition transactions, both in and out of court, across the retail, real estate, brands, commercial and industrial sectors.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, Joseph was the founder and managing member of the former Malfitano Partners, a boutique advisory firm focused on assisting retailers and industrial manufacturers to manage change and transformation, where he was involved in some of the most significant retail transformation projects over the past decade. Joseph previously worked at a global investment and advisory firm where he held several roles and was last an executive vice president responsible for sourcing and structuring distressed and non-distressed capital transactions. Before that, he practiced law at Young Conway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP, one of the largest bankruptcy and corporate restructuring firms in Wilmington, Delaware.

Joseph has a Juris Doctor from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. Joseph is based in Philadelphia.
