John Galvin

Deputy General Counsel

John Galvin is Deputy General Counsel at Gordon Brothers. John advises the firm’s senior leadership team, investors and board of directors on all corporate matters.

John has over 10 years’ experience providing strategic counsel on complex transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures as well as on corporate governance and enterprise risk mitigation.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, John worked as an associate in the private equity group at Ropes & Gray, where he advised private equity firms, their portfolio companies and strategic investors on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. John also represented clients on corporate governance, equity and operational matters and regularly represented asylum seekers on a pro bono basis.

John holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He serves on the boards of directors of Polybio and English for New Bostonians. John is based in Boston.
