John Galvin

Senior Director, Head of Legal, Americas

John Galvin is Senior Director, Head of Legal, Americas at Gordon Brothers. John serves as the firm’s front-line transactional counsel primarily for the Brands, Real Estate and Valuations practices. He advises on legal strategy, transaction structuring and negotiation, and corporate governance and corporate development opportunities. Additionally, John manages deal documentation and execution, among other corporate matters.

John has nearly 10 years’ experience in the legal field, focusing on private equity and corporate law.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, John worked as an associate in the private equity group at Ropes & Gray, where he advised private equity firms, their portfolio companies and strategic investors on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. John also represented clients on corporate governance, equity and operational matters and regularly represented asylum seekers on a pro bono basis.

John holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is on the board of directors for English for New Bostonians. John based in Boston.
