Delivered flexible store closure program to facilitate a swift exit from the German market.

Following a decision to leave the German market, we helped JC to wind down and close stores to facilitate a swift exit from the country.  JC AB is a highly successful Swedish clothing retailer and, having completed a detailed financial review of its German store portfolio, the business decided to leave the German marketplace.

We formulated a bespoke, flexible strategy to minimise the disruption an evolving lease disposal situation could cause. Our expert team revised logistics operations to allow efficient transfer of stock between stores, in order to respond quickly to customer demand in specific locations. This delivered maximum sales volume and allowed stores to be closed earlier or later than planned depending on the negotiated lease disposal timings.

Alongside this we ran a carefully structured promotional campaign to suit the restrictions of strict lease covenants on closure sales, to raise customer awareness and drive footfall.

We maintained flexibility throughout the project, adapted quickly to changing needs and enabled a positive outcome for both the client and the landlords, resulting in a successful country exit for JC.
