Manager, Business Valuation
Peter Wilhelm is a manager in Gordon Brothers’ Business Valuation practice. He specializes in valuing intellectual property (“IP”), with a core focus on patents, brands, and know-how valuation. Over the course of his career, Peter has completed appraisals for many different purposes across a multitude of industries. Such purposes have included IP-related litigation, transaction due diligence, financial reporting, licensing opportunities, strategic/internal decision making, management/shareholder buy-out, and asset-based lending purposes. Peter oversees all of his engagements from start to finish, which includes drafting and submitting proposals, client management, gathering all necessary information, conducting company management interviews, reviewing the industry and market for all relevant data, and completing the analysis, which includes preparation and review of all supporting documentation, drafting and submitting appraisal reports, and post-engagement follow-up. Prior to joining Gordon Brothers in 2016, Peter spent some time in the audit world providing various appraisals for financial and tax reporting purposes. Before that, Peter worked at an IP-intensive valuation firm in Chicago specializing in the valuation of intellectual property. Peter’s career began in 2008 at a smaller consulting firm where he primarily performed business enterprise and equity valuations. Peter is a Certified Valuation Analyst through the National Association of the Certified Valuators and Analysts. He also maintains candidacy through the American Society of Appraisers, Chicago Chapter. Peter has a bachelor in finance from Valparaiso University.
