Berta Escudero is Senior Managing Director, International Retail at Gordon Brothers. Berta leads and originates retail engagements across key international growth markets, including Latin America, with a particular focus on Mexico and South America, and select Asia-Pacific countries, and oversees the firm’s retail business in Spain and Portugal. She is also responsible for building and scaling Retail Advisory Services across international markets.

Berta has more than 35 years of experience in the retail sector, having worked with and managed many high-profile international brands through transitional periods. She has partnered with retailers undergoing transformation and restructuring, providing expertise, capital and operational support to companies and their investors as they navigate change.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, Berta was CEO of El Ganso, a multinational Spanish fashion retailer operating in 11 countries. Berta previously spent 10 years at Grupo Cortefiel, now Tendam, a multinational fashion company with more than 2,000 stores across 90 countries, ultimately serving as CEO. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at leading consumer goods companies including P&G and Puig.

Berta holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
