Yum! Brands, the world’s largest system restaurant company, sought to outsource its ongoing real estate disposition needs. The company opens an average of six new restaurants per day, and undertakes limited strategic closures on a regular basis. In order to support the firm’s scale and complex demands, it needed a partner that had the relationships, experience and marketing support capabilities to deliver results. Yum! Brands engaged Gordon Brothers and over the past 15 years we have served as an ongoing partner to support the company’s changing footprint.

Throughout the course of our relationship, we have seamlessly provided property valuations, lease terminations, fee owned property sales, subleases and lease assignments to support the closure of underperforming stores, store relocations, divestitures and the sale of excess undeveloped land. Working together, we have implemented creative deal structures to overcome difficult landlord/tenant obstacles and found alternate buyers and sub-lessors in challenging markets. We have marketed properties nationally through different media outlets including our own proprietary website listings, as well as through advertising, tradeshows, commercial real estate listing services, direct mail and email campaigns. We also leverage our own expansive network of brokers with local and regional expertise.

Throughout our long-standing relationship, Gordon Brothers has successfully assisted Yum! Brands with the disposition of over 140 properties.  We maintain an ongoing listing of Yum! Brands properties for sale or sublease, including closed stores and excess undeveloped land consisting of freestanding drive- through buildings, urban store fronts, and shopping center locations.
