Clerys’ doors were forced to close for four months in 2013 following a flash flood which permeated all four floors. This weekend, however, is all about celebration as Clerys marks this special occasion with a birthday extravaganza and a little help from Stitches the Bear.
Stitches, Clerys’ cuddly mascot, also celebrates his first birthday this weekend following a busy year of fundraising for Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Clerys’ nominated charity of the year. Clerys is on track to raise its target of €50,000 for the children’s hospital and hopes to get closer to this figure over the birthday weekend with a little help from Stitches. A golden ticket promotion is also running throughout the weekend where ticket holders will receive exclusive discounts, prizes and gifts-with-purchase in celebration of Clerys 1st birthday.
Speaking about the festivities, Dominic Prendergast, Managing Director, Clerys said; “It’s been a remarkable year for Clerys and as a team we are very proud of what we have achieved in the 12months since our re-opening. The flooding last year was unfortunate but we’ve been able to turn it into something positive and we haven’t looked back since so we’re taking this opportunity to celebrate!
“We hope that Clerys shoppers old and new will join us this weekend to celebrate our 1st birthday once again and support Stitches in taking us closer to that crucial €50,000 fundraising mark for Temple Street Children’s hospital, a cause very close to our heart.”
Golden tickets are being distributed around Dublin City and commuters can also grab a chance to win on the way to work at the giant Clerys birthday present located in Connolly Station. Watch out also for the Clerys rickshaw which will be doing free trips to the store between 9am and 5pm. Promotions run until Sunday 23rd November.
