Gordon Brothers, in a joint venture, was retained to sell the historic and iconic Cavalier Hotel on the Oceanfront of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Gordon Brothers developed a mixed-use redevelopment marketing campaign and strategy for the compound. 

The Cavalier Hotel of Virginia Beach is a historic landmark, once visited by presidents and movie stars, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Cavalier property, which is situated on 21.2 acres, included two hotels totaling 397 rooms, an employee housing building, a single family residence, and a freestanding commercial building.


Through national and local marketing efforts and the attractiveness of the site, the entire complex was purchased with plans to restore the old Cavalier Hotel and redevelop its sister properties. The Cavalier reopened in Spring 2018 and is now part of the Marriott Autograph Collection Hotels.
