Global food retailer Delhaize Group retained Gordon Brothers to manage the disposition of over 125 vacant Food Lion supermarkets throughout the eastern U.S. The properties, consisting of owned and leased retail properties along with a 833,000 square foot distribution center, were marketed locally and nationally while we worked to eliminate lease guarantees and reduce risk exposure.

In addition to traditional marketing avenues, we leveraged our strong relationships in the industry and researched relevant retail and non-retail successors who might benefit from these opportunities. The project continues today and through our successful termination of leases, subleasing, and other disposition activities, Food Lion has fewer than 20 properties remaining.
