U.S. Employment Benefits
Health, Life & Other Insurance Programs
Health Insurance is available to all regular, full-time employees beginning on the first of the month following date of hire. We offer Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage, with a choice of Preferred Blue PPO $1,000 or the Preferred Blue PPO Saver $2,000. Employees share in the cost for this benefit.
Health Insurance Opt Out Program
Employees who are eligible for medical benefits elsewhere and elect to waive coverage under the Gordon Brothers medical plan are eligible to participate in the Medical Opt-Out Program. Employees who are eligible for medical benefits and enroll for coverage under a non-Gordon Brothers group medical plan may qualify for reimbursement
Dental Insurance is available to all regular, full-time employees beginning on the first of the month following date of hire. Dental coverage is provided through Delta Dental, with a maximum benefit of $1,500 per year, per person. Employees share in the cost of this benefit.
Vision Insurance is available to all regular, full-time employees beginning on the first of the month following date of hire. Vision coverage is provided through EyeMed. Employees share in the cost of this benefit.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Employees may elect Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for eligible health or dependent care expenses with pre-tax income. Employees may set aside up to $2,550 in pretax dollars for medical expenses and up to $5,000 in pre-tax dollars for dependent care expenses not covered by insurance.
Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA)
Employees may elect a Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account and set aside up to $2,550 in pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible vision or dental expenses with pre-tax income only if they elect the PPO Saver Plan.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
Bank of America opens a Health Savings Account on behalf of those employees who elect our High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This provides a valuable savings opportunity to help you cover your qualified medical, prescription drug, dental or vision expenses. The employee and employer make contributions to the account which has an investment option once the balances reaches $1,000.
Income Protection & Retirement
401(k) Retirement Plan
All regular, full-time employees who meet the eligibility requirements may participate in our 401(k) plan beginning on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time, temporary or seasonal employees who meet the eligibility requirements become eligible on the first day of the month after completing one year of service, which is defined as 1,000 hours during the relevant eligibility period. Employees may contribute up to 75% of their gross pay, in accordance with current IRS limits, including pre-tax, Roth, and catch-up contributions. In addition, the company provides a generous match of employee contributions and a competitive vesting schedule.
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance is available through Cigna at no cost to regular, full-time employees on the first of the month following date of hire. Life insurance and AD&D coverage is equal to the amount of the employee's annualized salary up to a maximum of $150,000 and is company paid.
The Company provides Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage through Cigna to regular, full-time employees beginning on the first of the month following date of hire. The STD plan covers 70% of earnings to a maximum of $4,600.00 bi-weekly. The LTD plan coverage 60% of earnings up to a maximum of $15,000 per month.
The Company actively encourages and supports volunteerism by providing paid volunteer time to employees who complete six months of employment. During each calendar year, full-time employees may use up to 24 hours and part-time employees may use up to 12 hours to serve in the community.
Company Matching Program
The Company will match employee contributions to one or more 501 (c) (3) charitable organizations as determined by the IRS up to a maximum of $250 per employee per calendar year.
Vacation, Sick & Holiday Time
Depending on length of service, regular, full-time employees accrue between two and four weeks of vacation each year.
All regular, full-time employees who have completed their 90-day introductory period receive five sick days per calendar year. We follow any unique state-specific regulations for sick time as required including for Massachusetts, California and New York.
The company recognizes ten full and two ½ paid holidays each year.
The Company is committed to developing and maintaining a highly skilled work force and promoting continuous learning and development. We reimburse eligible, regular, full-time employees for certain educational expenses that they incur which enhance their ability to perform current or future job performance, as determined by the relevant Division/Department Head.
Employee Assistance Program
Employees and their family members have access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to provide confidential support in coping with some of life’s challenges. The program provides resources, counseling and referral services 24 hours a day, seven days a week related to issues of addiction, stress, work/life balance, financial and legal needs, child care, and more.
Business Casual Dress
We offer a business casual dress code Monday through Thursday with the option to wear jeans on Fridays.
The Company reimburses up to $150 per calendar year for employees who do not elect our health insurance coverage. Our Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage provides a similar benefit to employees who elect our health insurance.
Employees can use tax-free funds to pay for parking and public transporation – such as train, subway, bus, ferry, trolley, or vanpool – as part of their daily commute to work. Funds are moved to the account before taxes are deducted, which reduces the employee’s overall tax burden. With this benefit, employees can save an average of 30% off of their commute.
CPR Certification Course Reimbursement
We offer reimbursement for CPR Certification to regular full- and part-time employees each year.
Employee Referral Program
Employees who refer a qualified candidate for an open position may be eligible to receive an employee referral bonus if the candidate is hired and completes 90 days of employment. Occasionally, we may increase the referral bonus for a limited time to target certain time sensitive or hard to fill positions.
