Understanding the value of brand equity in the marketplace
Gordon Brothers Group purchases, sells or invests in distressed brands, brands in transition or growth cycles, and other intellectual property for our own account. This occurs both independently and as part of multi-asset transactions where the intellectual property sometimes represents the largest asset within the transaction. Gordon Brothers Group acquires or invests in:
- Under-exploited intangible assets from companies experiencing challenging operating performance but possessing brand recognition within their sector.
- Neglected or "orphan" brands from healthy companies that own a brand that does not fit their business objectives.
- Dormant brands from companies that own an established brand but have since discontinued all marketing and distribution efforts to support the asset.
- Established brands positioned for growth, either through incremental licensing opportunities or geographical expansion.
